Description: 
At 843 PM CDT, the public reported strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 11 miles north of Ludell to 3 miles south of Gem to 7 miles northeast of Scott State Lake. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...AWOS. At 0839 PM CDT, a 53 mph wind gust was reported in Colby. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Rexford and Menlo around 850 PM CDT. Grinnell and Herndon around 855 PM CDT. Other locations in the path of these storms include Gove, Selden, Oberlin, Grainfield, Hoxie, Park, Dresden, Quinter and Jennings. This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 75 and 112.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern and west central Kansas.
