Description:
At 233 AM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles east of Oakhurst, or 16 miles southeast of Yosemite South
Entrance, moving north at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Yosemite South Entrance, Peckinpah, Mariposa Grove, Batterson, Crane
Valley Reservoir, Wawona Campground, Buck Camp Ranger Station,
Chilkoot Meadow, Fish Camp, Wawona, Wawona Vistor Center, Bass Lake,
Poison Ridge, and North Fork.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
