Description:
At 548 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles west of Buffalo, or 9 miles north of Fredonia, moving east at
45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Chanute, Fredonia, Humboldt, Altoona, Buffalo, Savonburg, Elsmore,
Benedict, Stark, New Albany, Earlton, Coyville, Petrolia, Chanute
Airport, Cross Timbers State Park, and Toronto Lake.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for
southeastern Kansas.
