Description:
At 621 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles northeast of Emporia to 4 miles west of
Neosho Rapids to near Madison. Movement was northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down small tree limbs and blow
around unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Emporia, Osage City, Lebo, Burlingame, Hartford, Gridley, Neosho
Rapids, Reading, and Melvern Lake.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 35 between mile markers 132 and 151.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 132 and 144.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for east central
Kansas.
