Description:
At 951 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Sarepta to near Greenwood to near Beckville.
Movement was southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Shreveport, Bossier City, Minden, Carthage, Haughton, Greenwood,
Blanchard, Waskom, Benton, Stonewall, Tenaha, Plain Dealing, Cotton
Valley, Sarepta, Beckville, Doyline, Dixie Inn, Belcher, Deberry, and
Elysian Fields.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
