Description:
At 1046 AM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms
capable of producing a landspout along a line extending from 7 miles
west of Port Orford to 9 miles southwest of Ophir. Movement was east
at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Landspouts, wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph, and penny size
hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Gusty winds
could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured
objects.
Locations impacted include...
Port Orford, Sixes, Cape Blanco State Park, Humbug Mountain State
Park, Sixes River Campground, Edson Creek Campground, Ophir, and
Nesika Beach.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
