At 1149 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong thunderstorms 12 miles north of Elkins, or 41 miles northeast of Roswell, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Mainly rural areas of the northeast Chaves County Plains.
