At 149 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 14 miles southwest of Elkins, or 23 miles northeast of Roswell, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Mainly rural areas of the Chaves County Plains. This includes Highway 380 near Mile Marker 172...and near Mile Marker 174.
