Description:
At 1215 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms that extended from near Stamford to Lake Abilene.
Movement was northeast at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Abilene, Clyde, Stamford, Anson, Albany, Baird, Throckmorton, Merkel,
Tye, Tuscola, Hawley, Buffalo Gap, Lueders, Moran, Woodson, Putnam,
Paint Creek, Ibex, Fort Griffin, and Caps.
This includes Interstate 20 between Mile Markers 267 and 323.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CST for
west central Texas.
