Description:
At 402 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Karnack to Elysian Fields to 6 miles
southwest of Carthage. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Shreveport, Marshall, Carthage, Vivian, Greenwood, Blanchard, Waskom,
Oil City, Mooringsport, Hosston, Gilliam, Deberry, Elysian Fields,
Karnack, Gray, Scottsville, Gary City, Uncertain, Front, and Leigh.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
