Description: 
At 103 AM EST, radar indicated an intense lake effect snow band along a line extending from near North East to near Conneaut to Mentor. This intense lake effect snow band was nearly stationary. Travel is nearly impossible across parts of eastern Lake, northern Ashtabula, and northern and central Erie Counties right now. Large stretches of I-90 and I-86 are closed in Erie County. Erie County has declared a state of emergency due to the lake effect snow event. The heaviest snow rates are currently over eastern Lake County and northern Ashtabula County where road crews will be unable to keep up with them. Do not drive in these areas if you do not need to! HAZARDS INCLUDE... Winds to 30 mph... Visibility rapidly dropping to less than a quarter of a mile... Snow rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour... Locations impacted include... Erie, Painesville, Ashtabula, Willowick, Conneaut, Chardon, Fairport Harbor, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Euclid, Mentor, Willoughby, Eastlake, Edinboro, Geneva, North East, Madison, Girard, North Kingsville, Perry, and Waterford. Do not travel through this snow band unless it is absolutely necessary. You run significant risk of getting stranded and emergency services may not be able to get to you if you do. If you must travel, be sure you have a full tank of gas, food and water, and an emergency kit in your car.
