At 621 PM EST, an area of heavy snow was located along a line extending from near Matthews to near Nashville. Movement was east at 40 mph. Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this area of heavy snow. Locations impacted include... Muncie, Anderson, Columbus, Shelbyville, Franklin, Greenfield, New Castle, Greensburg, North Vernon, Rushville, Winchester, Nashville, Vernon, Adams, Yorktown, Edinburgh, Union City, Chesterfield, Knightstown, and Albany. This includes the following highways... Interstate 65 between mile markers 52 and 94. Interstate 69 between mile markers 225 and 242. Interstate 70 between mile markers 100 and 133. Interstate 74 between mile markers 101 and 140. Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a quarter of a mile in this area of heavy snow. Icy roads are possible as the snow melts on the roads then quickly refreezes. Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
