Description:
Widespread low clouds across the plains this afternoon are intersecting with the ground resulting in patchy, locally dense fog with visibility of one-half mile or less. This fog looks to last through at least the late afternoon, perhaps into the evening. Those traveling should be prepared for variable driving conditions over short distances. Elevated surfaces such as bridges may be icy given the below freezing temperatures. If you encounter fog, slow down and use your low-beam headlights.
