Expected
Effective:
December 22, 2024 - 8:00pm
Expires:
December 23, 2024 - 4:00am
Description:
Although current trends are showing lower potential for icing and
snowfall amounts, a light wintry mix is still forecast to develop
across western portions of central Minnesota after midnight tonight
and gradually spread east into west-central Wisconsin after sunrise
Monday morning. Precipitation is expected to start as a mix of
sleet, freezing rain, and snow, but should quickly change to all
snow. Amounts will be light, with the highest snowfall totals
expected in the Eau Claire area, where up to an inch of snow is
possible. Weather and road conditions may change over a short
distance within the alerted area Monday morning. Because of this, it
will be important to travel with caution. Maintain a safe distance
to any vehicles ahead, drive at reduced speeds, and use headlights
if you encounter wintry precipitation.
