Description:
At 205 PM CST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles east of Deberry, or 19 miles southwest of Shreveport, moving
northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Midyett, Deberry, Elysian Fields, Spring Ridge, Waskom,
Shreveport, Greenwood, Keithville, Stonewall, Cross Lake, Forbing,
Blanchard and Bossier City.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
If on or near Cross Lake, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
