Northeastern Northampton County in northeastern North Carolina... * Until 300 PM EDT. * At 233 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 8 miles northwest of Rich Square, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern Northampton County, including the following locations... Jackson, Galatia, Creeksville, Falsons Old Tavern, and Boones Crossroads.
