* WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, east winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 40-50 mph. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 10-20 degrees. For the Freeze Warning, widespread sub-freezing temperatures 14 to 26 degrees expected. * WHERE...Eastern Cochise County below 5000 feet, Upper Gila River Valley, and Upper San Pedro River Valley. * WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, until 10 PM MST this evening. For the Cold Weather Advisory, until 10 AM MST this morning. For the Freeze Warning, from 10 PM this evening to 10 AM MST Thursday and again from 10 PM Thursday to 10 AM MST Friday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured outdoor objects. Tree limbs could be blown down. Localized blowing dust may reduce visibility especially near and west of the Willcox Playa. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects. Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside. Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly.
