...BRIEF HEAVY SNOW FALLING ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PANHANDLE...
.A band of showers training across the southern panhandle has
dropped a few inches of snow while the upper level support has
been moving through.
* WHAT...Heavy wet snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 2
inch.
* WHERE...Ketchikan Gateway Borough and Annette Island.
* WHEN...Until noon AKST today.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Reports of 3 to 5 inches of snow have been
report around Ketchikan to Metlakatla. Snow will continue for a
couple hours before tapering off this afternoon.
Instruction:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water
with you in case of an emergency.
People are urged to prepare their property before the onset of
winter weather.
