A period of rain will be possible, as well. The remaining precipitation will then change back to snow late Sunday night and Monday morning. The heaviest precipitation is expected Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. Although total snowfall amounts of 2 to 5 inches are forecast, the largest amount on the ground at any given time may be less due to freezing rain and rain occurring in the middle of the winter storm, atop the initial snowfall. Wind gusts on Monday in excess of 20 mph could lead to further tree damage and power outages.
