Description:
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet
accumulations between 4 and 8 inches and ice accumulations between
four tenths and six of an inch.
* WHERE...A portion of east central Kentucky.
* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 7 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Expect power outages and tree damage due to the ice.
Travel could be impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact
the Monday morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow will develop this morning, and then mix
with or change to freezing rain in the afternoon and evening.
Remaining precipitation will change back to snow during the day
Monday. The heaviest precipitation is expected this afternoon and
tonight. Although total snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches are
forecast, the largest depth on the ground at any given time may be
less due to freezing rain occurring in the middle of the winter
storm, atop the initial snowfall. Wind gusts on Monday in excess
of 20 mph could lead to further tree damage and power outages.
