* WHAT...Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 15 inches, with amounts of 20 inches possible in isolated spots if heavy banding sets up in this area. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph tonight. * WHERE...In Maryland, Extreme Western Allegany and Garrett Counties. In West Virginia, Western Grant and Western Mineral Counties. * WHEN...Until 6 AM EST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Untreated and unplowed roads may become impassable. During the times of heaviest snowfall, even primary roads may be impassable. It is highly recommended to postpone non-essential travel. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first round of heavy snow will taper by sunrise. There will be a break this morning with intermittent light snow and possible sleet or freezing drizzle. A second round of snow is likely this afternoon and evening before tapering to snow showers tonight.
