Description:
* WHAT...Heavy snow. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 15
inches, with amounts of 20 inches possible in isolated spots if
heavy banding sets up in this area. Winds gusting as high as 40
mph tonight.
* WHERE...In Maryland, Extreme Western Allegany and Garrett
Counties. In West Virginia, Western Grant and Western Mineral
Counties.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Untreated and unplowed roads may become impassable.
During the times of heaviest snowfall, even primary roads may be
impassable. It is highly recommended to postpone non-essential
travel.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The first round of heavy snow will taper by
sunrise. There will be a break this morning with intermittent
light snow and possible sleet or freezing drizzle. A second round
of snow is likely this afternoon and evening before tapering to
snow showers tonight.
Instruction:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for

Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
