...Heavy snow for the Klondike Highway Continues...
A departing front approaching will produce moderate to heavy snow
on the Klondike Highway through Tuesday morning, primarily
confined to higher elevations near White Pass. Near Sea level, the
precipitation type will remain as rain.
* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of up to 2
inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Municipality of Skagway, primarily for the Klondike
Highway.
* WHEN...Until 9 AM AKST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heaviest snow is expected near White Pass
and higher elevations.
Instruction:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water
with you in case of an emergency.
People are urged to prepare their property before the onset of
winter weather.
