Description:
* WHAT...Lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations between
2 and 6 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Southern Cayuga County.
* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 1 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning
commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and may cause
reduced visibility from blowing snow.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain will change to snow this afternoon, then
lake effect snow will continue overnight into Thursday morning.
There will be a big break between this initial activity, and
additional lake effect snow which may occur this weekend, so the
Lake Effect Snow Warning was replaced with a Winter Weather
Advisory.
