* WHAT...Snow and mixed precipitation expected. Likelihood of minor to moderate impacts from around 1 to 3 inches of snow is 80 percent, and 3 to 6 inches of snow is 40 percent. Total snowfall 1 to 2 inches south and west of Garrison Junction including Butte, 3 to 5 inches MacDonald Pass and Ovando. * WHERE...Butte, Highway 12 Garrison to Elliston, Homestake Pass, Georgetown Lake, and MacDonald Pass. * WHEN...Until 8 AM MST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Winter traveling conditions. For MINOR impacts from snow, expect a few inconveniences to normal activities. Use caution while driving. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute, especially over higher passes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Mixed precipitation is possible along I-90 west to Drummond and Highway 200 west to Clearwater Junction. A change to snow showers is expected Friday night. Easterly wind gusts to 35 mph at Helmville to US-12 east of Garrison Junction, will produce periods of blowing snow and reduced visibility less than one mile at times. Wind chill temperatures as low as 10 degrees.
