Description:
* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations up
to 3 inches and ice accumulations between one tenth and two tenths
of an inch.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and southeast Kentucky.
* WHEN...From 7 AM Sunday to 7 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the
ice. Travel could be difficult to nearly impossible. The hazardous
conditions may impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow possibly mixed with sleet will develop
on Sunday morning, and then change to freezing rain in the
afternoon and evening. A switch to plain rain is expected in many
places for a time on Sunday night. Remaining precipitation will
change back to snow Monday morning. The heaviest precipitation is
expected Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening. Although total
snowfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are forecast in most locations,
the largest amount on the ground at any given time may be less due
to freezing rain and rain occurring in the middle of the winter
storm, atop the initial snowfall.

driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken
on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and
slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
