...HEAVY SNOW ACROSS THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE...
.For the Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories, a warm front
moving northward through Sunday is bringing snow for Juneau and
Gustavus and up to the Klondike and Haines Highways. Warming
temperatures will push northward Sunday through Monday, causing a
change to liquid. Timing issues are complicating the changeover
times. A separate front will bring heavy rain and upper elevation
snow to the region Monday night through Tuesday.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6
inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE...Gustavus and City and Borough of Juneau.
* WHEN...From 3 AM Sunday to midnight AKST Sunday night.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall will be heaviest Saturday night
into Sunday morning. The timing for the precipitation
changeover to liquid may vary leading to different snowfall
totals.
