Description:
* WHAT...Freezing Rain. Ice accumulations of around one quarter
of an inch.
* WHERE...Anchorage and Matanuska Valley.
* WHEN...Until 6 AM AKST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are
possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the afternoon
commute Monday and the early morning commute Tuesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Freezing rain has been reported across
much of the area, leading to numerous reports of slick
conditions on untreated roads and other surfaces. Although
temperatures are expected to rise above freezing later today,
ice may continue to accrue as ground and surface temperatures
remain below freezing for an extended period. Snow may mix in
with freezing rain at times, particularly in higher elevations
such as the Anchorage Hillside.
