Description:
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to three inches.
Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
* WHERE...In Maryland, Extreme Western Allegany County. In Virginia,
Western Highland County. In West Virginia, Western Pendleton
County.
* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
conditions on I-68 and US-40 west of La Vale, US-50 west of New
Creek, US-33 west of Franklin, WV, and US-250 west of Hightown,
VA. The hazardous conditions could impact travel especially during
the early morning and overnight hours. Strong winds could cause
damage to trees
and power lines.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates around 0.5 to 1 inch per hour
are possible at times through Thursday morning especially in
embedded snow squalls. Freezing fog is possible between steadier
snows.
