Description:
* WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2
and 5 inches inches tonight into Wednesday morning. Then, another
2 to 6 inches expected Wednesday afternoon through Thursday
morning. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will create areas of
blowing snow.
* WHERE...Chenango, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Seneca, Southern
Cayuga, and Tompkins Counties.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There will be several periods of lake effect
snow with some lulls in the steady lake effect also possible at
times. Two day totals will range from 5 to 12 inches for locations
that see the most persistent lake effect snow.
