Description:
* WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3
inches expected into the morning hours. Another 2 to 6 inches is
expected to fall this afternoon through Thursday morning. Winds
gusting as high as 35 mph will cause blowing and drifting snow.
* WHERE...Chenango, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Seneca, Southern
Cayuga, and Tompkins Counties.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions
could impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A brief lull in snowband intensity is
expected late this morning into the afternoon hours, separating
heavier snowfall this morning and tonight. In total, 3-9 inches of
additional snow fall is expected through Thursday morning across
areas where the most persistent snowbands develop.
