...ACCUMULATING SNOW FOLLOWED BY RAIN FOR NORTHERN SE AK...
.Heavy snow showers embedded within a system moving across SE AK
are bringing periods of heavy snow to the Icy Strait Corridor
northward. Precipitation will remain as snow through the morning
hours before changing over to snow through the afternoon, though
snow could hold on longer for areas north of the Icy Strait
Corridor (Haines) before a changeover to rain occurs.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.
Total snow accumulation of around 4 to 7 inches.
* WHERE...Glacier Bay.
* WHEN...Until noon AKST today.
* IMPACTS...Road, marine, and air travel could be difficult. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Around 4 inches has already accumulated
around the area since midnight. The snow is expected to start to
transition to rain around midday.

winter weather.
