...ACCUMULATING SNOW FOLLOWED BY RAIN FOR MOST NORTHERN SE AK...
.Another incoming front pushing through the panhandle Friday will
see rain continue for most of SE AK. The main exception will be
the upper elevations of the Klondike Highway near White Pass which
is expected to remain cold enough for all snow. By Saturday
morning, cooling temperatures will see a changeover to snow for
the Yakutat area, with the rest of the panhandle following suit
Saturday afternoon and evening.
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6
inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.
* WHERE...City and Borough of Juneau.
* WHEN...From 3 PM Saturday to 4 AM AKST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could
bring down tree branches.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow accumulations will be highly variable,
as snow showers set up behind a fast-moving system.
