Description:
* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of about 5 to 8
inches around Goodnews Bay, with locally higher amounts near Cape
Newenham. Easterly winds gusting as high as 30-40 mph, with higher
gusts near Cape Newenham. Visibilities reduced to one half mile or
less at times due to blowing snow.
* WHERE...Western Capes.
* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 8 AM AKDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Heavy snow may lead to slick roads. Travel could be
difficult. Areas of blowing snow may significantly reduce
visibility tonight.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Two storms moving near the Western Capes will
bring a long duration of snowfall. Gusty winds tonight could lead
to periods of reduced visibilities in blowing snow, especially
along the immediate coast. Temperatures increase into the mid-30s
tomorrow afternoon, which may reduce snow accumulations during the
daytime.
