Description:
Low pressure tracking near southern New England will spread rain
and snow into the region tonight. As precipitation rates increase
towards day break, snow will become the dominant precipitation type.
* WHAT...Snow and sleet expected. Total snow accumulations between 3
and 5 inches and sleet accumulations up to one tenth of an inch.
* WHERE...Western and Central Hillsborough and Cheshire Counties.
* WHEN...From 2 AM to 2 PM EDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS...The potential exists for snowbands that will bring
periods of locally heavy snowfall, which will lead to rapid snow
accumulations and extremely dangerous travel conditions. Heavy wet
snow will cause weighted tree limbs, leading to snapped branches.
Even light snowfall amounts can accumulate on roads and cause
dangerous driving conditions due to snow covered roads.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates will approach 1-2 inches per
hour early tomorrow morning. These snowfall rates will overcome
marginal temperatures to accumulate on roads.
