Description:
* WHAT...Snow showers will increase in coverage this evening and
continue overnight before tapering to flurries Saturday morning.
Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected for most
locations, with the most significant accumulations expected above
elevations of 1500 feet.
* WHERE...The Winter Weather Advisory is for a portion of southeast
Kentucky.
* WHEN...The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 6 AM EST
Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions, primarily over higher
elevations. This includes KY-160 and KY-179 crossing Black
Mountain, US-23, US-421 and US-23 crossing Pine Mountain, and
KY-932 near the Virginia/Kentucky border.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As temperatures fall below freezing in
valleys, those locations can also expect light snow accumulations
to occur, especially on grassy surfaces.
