Description:
* WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow. Snow accumulations
between 4 and 8 inches with localized amounts up to 10 inches.
Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. For the Winter Storm Warning,
heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 16
inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
* WHERE...Rabbit Ears Pass.
* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 5 AM MST Friday. For
the Winter Storm Warning, from 2 PM Friday to 6 AM MST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Snow covered roads will make travel hazardous, with the
possibility of very difficult or impossible travel.
Instruction:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
Colorado can be obtained by calling 5 1 1 or by going to
www.cotrip.org.
It is strongly recommended to alter travel plans during the storm.
Travel is expected to become very difficult to impossible. If you
must travel, take a winter storm kit along with you, including such
items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets
and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything
else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.
