Description:
Multiple rounds of snow and gusty winds will continue to impact the
northern Colorado mountains through Monday. The next round of
heavier snow will continue this afternoon and evening. Another
break is expected Sunday late morning through early evening, before
the final wave of snow moves in late Sunday evening and continues
through at least mid day Monday. If you are planning to travel
through the northern Colorado mountains, attempt to do so when
winter travel conditions will have less impact during one of those
breaks. Very strong winds will lead to blowing snow and greatly
reduced visibility.
* WHAT...Heavier snow will continue this afternoon into Sunday
morning before tapering off. Additional snow accumulations up to
10 inches is expected with winds gusting as high as 60 mph.
Another break in snowfall is expected much of the day on Sunday
before another wave moves through Sunday evening into Monday.
Total snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches with winds gusting
as high as 65 mph during the next wave.
* WHERE...Rocky Mountain National Park and the Medicine Bow Range,
and The Mountains of Summit County, the Mosquito Range, and the
Indian Peaks.
* WHEN...For the first Winter Weather Advisory, until 11 AM MST
Sunday. For the second Winter Weather Advisory, from 8 PM Sunday
to 5 PM MST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Snow covered roads and areas of blowing snow will make
travel hazardous.
