Winter Weather Advisory
Urgency:
Expected
Effective:
December 31, 2024 - 11:54pm
Expires:
January 1, 2025 - 6:00am
Description:
* WHAT...Light freezing rain or freezing drizzle during the pre dawn
hours will give way to a burst of heavy snow. Snow will mix with
rain and change to rain late this morning. Total snow
accumulations up to three inches and ice accumulations around a
light glaze.
* WHERE...In Maine, Southern Oxford County. In New Hampshire,
Northern Carroll, Northern Grafton, Southern Carroll, and Southern
Grafton Counties.
* WHEN...Until 9 AM EST this morning.
* IMPACTS...The potential exists for snowbands that will bring
periods of locally heavy snowfall, which will lead to rapid snow
accumulations and extremely dangerous travel conditions. Difficult
travel conditions are possible due to icy road conditions. This is
especially true on untreated side roads. Snow will change over to
rain causing a period of slushy roads that will lead to extremely
slick conditions. Plan on delaying travel to allow time for road
conditions to improve.
