Description:
...SNOW SHOWERS CONTINUING THROUGH TONIGHT...
.The second round of snow showers are expected for the Icy Strait
corridor. Satellite observations show training showers moving
toward downtown Juneau and Douglas, with roughly 0.03 to 0.04
inches of liquid equivlent falling per hour. This would translate
in around a half inch of snow accumulating per hour. Additionally,
poor visibility conditions down to one half mile are possible in
moderate snow showers.
* WHAT...Snow. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
Total snow accumulation of 4 to 7 inches.
* WHERE...Glacier Bay, Eastern Chichagof Island, Cape
Fairweather to Lisianski Strait and City and Borough of Juneau.
* WHEN...Until 4 AM AKDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. Powdery snow will
accumulate quickly.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavier showers are expected to move into
downtown Juneau, Thane, and Douglas shortly. Snow rates could
exceed half an inch per hour through 4 AM tomorrow morning.
Highest snow amounts expected near downtown Juneau.
