Description:
* WHAT...For the Winter Weather Advisory, freezing rain. Additional
ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. Winds gusting as
high as 35 mph. For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy mixed
precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 6
inches and ice accumulations around one tenth of an inch. Winds
gusting as high as 45 mph.
* WHERE...Washington County.
* WHEN...For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 7 PM CDT this
evening. For the Winter Storm Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 4
PM CDT Monday.
* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4
mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight
of snow and ice on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause
sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. Widespread
blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds
could bring down tree branches.
Instruction:
Persons are urged to stay indoors until conditions improve. If you
must go outside, dress in layers. Several layers of clothes will
keep you warmer than a single heavy coat. Cover exposed skin to
reduce your risk of frostbite or hypothermia. Gloves, a scarf, and a
hat will keep you from losing your body heat.
Persons should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use
extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary.
Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible
