...AREAS OF FLOOD WATER REMAIN THIS MORNING... Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms occurring last evening and early this morning have resulted in numerous areas of standing water. While rainfall will end near or just after 6 AM, it will take several additional hours for flood waters to recede and work through local drainage systems. Flood waters will take the longest to recede in urban areas and low-lying spots. Heed any road closures through the morning commute and never drive through flooded roadways. Improvement in standing water should occur by early this afternoon. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall has occurred, leaving numerous areas of standing water in the warned area. Standing water has resulted in road closures. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Wisconsin, including the following counties, Jefferson, Milwaukee, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha. * WHEN...Until 100 PM CDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several additional hours for water to work through local drainage systems. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 514 AM CDT, Heavy rain has occurred from last evening's and this morning's storms in the warned area. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.1 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Milwaukee, Waukesha, West Allis, Wauwatosa, New Berlin, Brookfield, Greenfield, Menomonee Falls, Oak Creek, Muskego, South Milwaukee, Cudahy, Whitewater, Whitefish Bay, Greendale, Pewaukee, Brown Deer, Sussex, Elkhorn and St. Francis. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
