Black River Near Galesville affecting Trempealeau and La Crosse Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Black River near Galesville. * WHEN...Until Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Flooding mainly impacts wildlands and agricultural pasture land. The approaches on both ends of the County Road VV bridge over the Black River in Jackson County may begin to flood and the bridge gates may be closed. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 13.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 PM CDT Thursday was 14.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Saturday morning and continue falling to 6.9 feet Thursday, April 23. - Flood stage is 12.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 13.6 feet on 03/28/1986. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
