President

Joe Biden Jr. is the 46th president of the United States.

The president’s role is similar to a chief executive officer (CEO) for the country. The president has many responsibilities such as overseeing executive agencies and budgets for the federal government that provide services for the public, businesses, and other government entities. The president is also the commander-in-chief for the U.S. armed forces.

The president appoints federal government executive branch department and agency heads to help them carry out their leadership responsibilities and objectives. The president also appoints Chief Justices to the supreme court. These appointments are confirmed by the Senate.

The president is the elected official responsible for the executive branch of the federal government. The executive branch operates separately from judicial (courts) and legislative branches of the federal government. However, the president has a major role in legislation and the federal government budget process.
